Student’s exchange: Slovenia 2016
Ljubljana, Slovenia, 19th September – 25th September 2016
Between the 19th and the 25th of September it was our school’s turn to organize the students’ exchange. Eleven students and two teachers of the Liceo Artistico Policarpo Petrocchi from Pistoia, Italy and five students and two teachers of the National School of Applied Arts »Saint Luca« from Sofia, Bulgaria joined our students in various workshops. The students worked together in a stop-motion animation workshop; they learned how to design a T-shirt using the tie-dye and screen printing techniques. The students met designer Editta Zelolepo a representative of an Artists’ Cooperative ZOOFA who presented them an innovative business model. We took our guests to an excursion to the region of Prekmurje, where they could learn from the local craftsmen about an almost extinguished art of black clay baking. On the last day of the exchange the students participated in a porcelain workshop.

I seriously doubt I’ll ever forget that week in Ljubljana. It was an extraordinary experience, the people were awesome and the organization was top notch.
I didn’t encounter any communication problems as all of the Slovenian and Italian guys are fluent in English. As a matter of fact, I still keep in touch with them.
The workshops were very useful and the sights of Ljubljana owe-inspiring. My only remark about the exchange is that it should have been longer!
I really want to be someone who can speak foreign languages as natives do and discover as many countries as I can. For this reason, I think the Erasmus project was a really great experience for me. I enjoyed every moment I spent in Ljubljana, and I already miss my new friends.
Eva Handjieva:
The exchange in Ljubljana was a great experience! We learned new things, got inspired, met awesome people and made new friends, while having a lot of fun. The organization was excellent! The workshops, the school, the hostel, the food, the city, everything was great! Ljubljana is really magical, cosy and romantic and I’m going to be very happy if one day I have the chance to go there again. I’m thankful for having the opportunity to take part in the project and the exchange.

The organisation was perfect! Everyone was very friendly. I enjoyed all of the workshops. I really liked Ljubljana and Prekmurje, too. Everything is so green and peaceful. It was a pleasure for me to participate in this project and to have the opportunity to feel a different atmosphere and culture!
Elisa Orlandini:
It was an incredible experience. I’ve had an amazing time in Ljubljana, I always think and talk about it, and every time I use the pencil you gave me, my mind flies directly to Slovenia. Programmes at school have been fun and cool, I would like to do them the whole year, especially the pottery workshop! Visits have been really interesting and free time with other guys and girls was always fun. I was never bored with them! Some friends are jealous of our experience… I’m just sorry that not everyone has the chance to take part in the exchange, but it would be impossible to take more than 100 students abroad. I hope that younger students understand how great and important these projects are for our formation as artists and adults.
Daniela Milanova:

I spent a beautiful week in Slovenia. I hope to come back to Ljubljana. The week was special to me because I practiced my English and learned new things about a new country and culture. I decided to travel more thanks to this new experience in Slovenia.
